Diet and exercise are great, but sometimes, they can't target wrinkles and sagging butt and thighs that creep upon us gradually as we age. If you're looking for a way to take years off your thighs and buttocks and achieve a more sculpted look, a Spiral thigh lift might be the solution.
Pioneered by Drs. Agha and Hurwitz in 2005, the Spiral Thigh Lift is an innovative procedure that addresses laxity of all the thigh surfaces, namely, front, inner, outer, and back in one surgery. It also lifts the buttocks to correct for signs of aging and cellulite in these areas. The procedure was later authored in plastic surgery textbooks and has now undergone many years of refinement by one of its creators, Dr. Agha. The Spiral thigh lift tightens loose skin, removes excess fat, and lifts sagging areas for a smoother, more defined appearance. By lifting the inner thigh, the anterior (front) thigh, the posterior (back thigh below the buttocks), and the outer thigh and buttocks, this revolutionary procedure offers a 360-degree transformation of your thighs with lifted buttocks.

If you are struggling with loose skin, wrinkles, cellulitis and even folds of skin on your thighs and butt, a spiral thigh lift can be an excellent option to tighten and smooth these areas. To achieve optimal results, a Spiral thigh lift is best suited for patients who are at a stable weight and in good physical health. Significant weight fluctuations can compromise the procedure's outcome. You should be close to your ideal weight and committed to maintaining it.
The Spiral thigh lift is a customizable procedure tailored to your unique needs. This means the extent of the surgery, surgery duration, and other details can vary. Don't worry, though! During your consultation, Dr. Agha will explain everything, answer your questions, and show you in detail how the Spiral thigh lift will address your concerns.
Dr. Agha then creates a well-concealed spiral incision that starts over the buttocks and runs over the outer thighs into the natural crease where your groin meets your thigh. This incision then continues discreetly under the fold of your buttocks.
Dr. Agha then removes excess skin and fat of the upper butt, outer thigh, anterior thigh, inner thigh, and posterior thigh. He then elevates the thigh circumferentially while anchoring the lifted thigh tissue to underlying muscles and bony surfaces. In this manner, the whole thigh is lifted. The surgery typically involves a combination of liposuction, skin excision, tissue repositioning, and skin tightening. Fat transfer to the buttocks may also be included for buttocks reshaping and augmentation after the buttocks lift. To finalize the procedure, Dr. Agha will use internal stitches to hold the repositioned tissues in place. The incisions will then be carefully closed to promote optimal healing.

All recovery procedures are focused on minimizing pain and improving your healing. Typically, you will need at least 4-6 weeks to heal from these thigh surgeries.
You’ll experience some discomfort and tightness for the first 3-5 days, but these should slowly resolve over time.
With the Spiral thigh lift, you will have an incision within your groin crease and under your butt (infra-gluteal crease).
Keep your legs slightly bent at the hips and knees during the first week. This will help reduce pain and tightness in your incision.
keep the groin crease (+/- infra-gluteal crease) dry at all times with a 4 x 4 gauze. This should be changed 2-3 times a day for 2-3 weeks. With each dressing change, dab your incisions with Dakins solution to clean them. Then cover with gauze dressings.
You will have swelling in your thighs and legs for 6-12 weeks.
You should start walking as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of forming blood clots.
DO NOT open your legs to sit on a toilet bowel or for any other reasons. Try to keep your legs closed as much as possible for 3-4 weeks.
Avoid sitting directly on the infra-gluteal incision (under your butt) of the Spiral thigh lift for 3-4 weeks.
After every bowel movement, wipe yourself with wet towels. If needed change your dressings and clean your incisions with Dakins solution.
Walking is the best exercise for the first 6 weeks. Make sure to avoid exercises that can raise your blood pressure for at least six weeks.
You should also avoid all activities that can put excessive force or stress on your incisions and the operative area until you have fully recovered.
Timeline | Activity |
---|---|
Within 24 hours |

You'll see visible improvements immediately, but the final results take a few months to take shape as the swelling subsides completely. The skin and fat removed are gone for good, so you can expect long-lasting tighter thighs. However, gravity and aging will still take their toll. Your surgeon can create a personalized anti-aging plan to help you minimize these effects. Weight management is key to maintaining your sculpted thighs and lifted buttocks. A healthy combination of cardio, strength training, and mindful eating will keep you looking and feeling your best.
A Spiral thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery designed to achieve a more sculpted and toned look to your thighs and buttocks. Here are some of its potential benefits:
This procedure can address loose skin, sagging, stubborn fat deposits, and cellulite in the thighs and buttocks, leading to firmer, smoother, and more proportionate contours.
A Spiral thigh lift can create a more defined thigh gap by removing excess skin and tightening underlying tissues.
Tightening the inner thighs can significantly reduce friction and irritation that often occurs with loose skin rubbing together.
With a sculpted lower body, you might feel more comfortable and confident wearing clothes that were previously unflattering, such as shorts, swimsuits, and form-fitting pants.
The procedure can address concerns like buttock droopiness and reshape the buttocks for a more defined look.
Multiple factors contribute to the pricing of your spiral thigh lift. For a precise cost evaluation, schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon at The Aesthetic Centers.
The procedure permanently removes excess skin and fat, which means you can expect a significant improvement in the tightness and shape of your thighs and buttocks. While your body will still age, maintaining a healthy weight through a combination of cardio, strength training, and proper nutrition can maximize the longevity of your results. Consulting with your doctor about a personalized anti-aging plan can also help minimize the effects of aging on your lower body contours.
