What plastic surgery procedure was considered dangerous in the 1960s?

Wed Nov 24 2021

Ever wondered how dangerous cosmetic procedures were back in the day?

While most cosmetic procedures haven’t always been as safe as they are today, one particular procedure used to be particularly dangerous: breast augmentation.

What made it so dangerous before? They used to inject liquid silicone directly into the breasts! 😅

These were usually followed by disastrous results. Many women developed infections, and others even had to have their breasts amputated.

Today, the procedure is much safer than it was before. Instead of injecting silicone, we now have silicone implants that are inserted behind or in front of the pectoral muscle. You can even have fat from other parts of your body transferred to your breasts!

Through the advancements developed in performing the surgery, you don’t have to worry about these issues anymore.

Isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come..
